What is the best station for train spotting around the Guildford/Camberley area?

Hello there, and answering the question, I would say Woking, depends what you are after although there is not a lot of variety around.

I live over in Wiltshire, and travel over to Camberley to see my girlfriend. As you said, variety is an issue, IC125, 166 or a 455. Occasionally I travel to Guildford, I guess Guildford has the advantage of being on the Northern Downs line, so I get to see the occasional 166.

Does Woking have freight?

Got the stone terminal on the down side between the station and Woking jn so 59s normally, not much good for you, there is also some freight to and from Southampton and Eastleigh although a lot of it is routed from Basingstoke to Reading.
