Im a qualified driver in the south and I’m a gym junkie! I was wondering if anyone knows what types of proteins, BCAA’s, testosterone boosters, Creatine etc anyone has ever had checked out Via DRM’s or Company medical staff to be safe and not resulting in a failed medical pee test! With New Year Resolutions coming up, I guess a lot of people will be hitting the gym (I know probably only for 1 month) so maybe interested in this kind of post.
Any helpful comments would be appreciated

I’m not a a driver, however I don’t think any of them things, protein, BCAA’s, creatine, pre work outs even PEDs and Steds would show up on a medical and D and A test. This is a) they are not testing for them and b) are so expensive to test for PEDs and Steds.

I have Medicaid and Drugs testing as part of my role each year, and I take the above and have never once been asked about these or have it come up on a test

Ok mate that’s interesting, thanks for that! I was in the Army, and we were so restricted on what we can use in there and they tested for all the banned products, that’s why I ask. You’ve got to watch what gym products you use nowadays

Very true.... I might be wrong about driving grade roles, however I would be very surprised if they did test for it!!!

I remember a thread of om here before about tests and PEDs etc along with protein, have a search

Best thing is phone the HR of the roc and find out what’s banned on your line..... then you can work from here....

If your having a medical, and you have taken protein creatine etc, declare it. At least your being honest and any variations in your wee can be accounted for etc. Honesty is the best policy

Hi Wilko,

I'm a pretty frequent gym goer and joined as a driver earlier this year.
When I had my medical for joining I was taking protein, creatine and BCAA's and had probably had all three the day before the medical.
I declared them obviously and it wasn't a problem. I used to take pre work outs but haven't for quite a while and hadn't anywhere near my medical so can't answer for those. I would like to start on them again though (C4 Cellucor) so might have a word with my DTCM to see what they say, if anyone else knows I'd be interested to know.

You can declare them for your own peace of mind but as a gym goer I've had multiple medicals haven' declared any suppements before and never had an issue

I had my three year medical just before Christmas and protein was one of the things checked doing the urine sample, i didn’t think to ask why they quickly tested it before saying it was fine

Guys what about trt Testosterone repleacment therapy prescribed from a docter for medical conditions proved by blood tests ? Would the choice of going on trt compromise my career on being a driver or a guard ? I know people with diabetes type 1 where you inject yourself are not allowed to be drivers does anyone know about trt or someone use it ?
