Hand-me-down XC rolling stock, or refurbished?

Just got on the 20:49 XC service from Basingstoke to Reading.

The coach I'm in looks rather clean and refreshed.

Is this the long overdue fleet refurbishment, or hand-me-down rolling stock from another operator?

It has come from Avanti, they've got 3 in service now. They'll be refurbished along with the stock they already had though.

The Avanti colour scheme looks better than the awful pink one of XC!

With the highly worn out red and blue seating!

12 units are due from the WCML operator once the 805/807 are in service. See link below please

Refurbishment is planned for after the existing XC stock.

XC Voyager Refurbishment

In Modern Railways January 2024. Beacon Rail have gone out to tender for XC Voyager refurbishment with 3 companies interested in the work (Alstom probably one of them). Also mentions Beacon Rail considering batteries for the voyagers but ruled out on cost. Not much other detail, but some good...
