Heathrow Terminal 4 query

Hi, I've got a relative arriving at Terminal 4 tomorrow and traveling up to London and then returning to Twyford in the late evening. I was going to meet him at Terminal 4 to show him what train to get. I don't want anything involving contactless as I've no idea what card he has and whether it will work over here.
If I bought him a return with a travel card from Twyford and give it to him at Heathrow, can I assume that it would be okay as Heathrow is included in zone 6 although he wouldn't actually be starting his journey at Twyford.
One of the options I looked at involved a split ticket at West Drayton but of course none of the GWR trains stop there and he would be traveling back to Twyford after the Elizabeth line finishes to Twyford. Does anyone know whether a travel card ticket can be used to split when the train doesn't stop there in the way that seasons and rover tickets can be used.
Any advice would be appreciated,
Lawrie

Assuming your friend is g0ing from T4 to London and then to Twyford then I'd get a Twyford to London Zones 1-6 Travelcard.

There's no need to travel from Twyford to London, you can use the Zones 1-6 validity to travel from the airport to London and then travel to Twyford.

This ticket is valid on the Elizabeth Line and the Piccadilly Line from the airport. It is not valid on the Heathrow Express.

Thanks for the prompt response. You confirmed what I was thinking, I'll buy the ticket as I go up to meet him then leave him to enjoy his st Patrick's Day celebrations.
