So in the mean time I want to better my chances or make myself more hireable to obtain my PTS Which i will fund myself but I know I need to obtain sponsorship which is we’re I am facing difficulty after many emails and calls I am no further forward. I am based in Scotland if anyone has any info for me to point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried the Labour only suppliers (Vital etc) a PTS is NOT valid without a Primary Sponsor and is difficult to notate between sponsors as it becomes immediately invalid the moment you no longer have a Primary Sponsor

Hi mate thanks for the reply yeah I have been on the look out but I managed to get a hold of McGinleys who are willing to sponsor me to do the PTS and TIC course providing I fund it myself which is no problem, how likely is it for me to to obtain work after completing the course doing it with a agencie and would you be able to recommend any other course that would make me more hireable as I lack any background in this industry.

Get your PTS and Track Induction I assume that’s what you mean by TIC.Reason I say this cause you be a blue hate (on probation )for approx six months and can not undertake any safety critical duties on a blue hat.All the blue hat means is you are new to the railway with limited experience and let’s people around you know this for your safety.Once up and running you can apply for various courses Eg COSS Lookout etc.You can earn some good money on agency work but as you are aware nothing guaranteed as being agency but defo recommend getting your railway competencies as will open up other avenues for you.All the best
