Hidden Teignmouth tunnel

Hi.

I had a conversation with someone today who told me about an abandoned tunnel under the hills of Teignmouth that was built during a time when the line was going to bypass Teignmouth. It's rough location is under the road that leads at the A380 out of Teignmouth towards Ashcombe etc.

I just wondered if there is any trust to it as I have never heard of it before.

Can’t say I’ve ever heard of it. I always thought that the route had been surveyed and possibly even had some of it purchased? Not sure about that, but I don’t recall ever hearing that work was ever actually started on it.
