Pictures on Rail Scene facebook this morning of H&H 50008 and its entourage passing through Doncaster on their way to Butterley MRC, 47703 visible in the background even allowing for its WW2 dazzle camouflage

I’ve now seen photos of the No.2 and the No.1 ends… I’m not sure how to feel about the window surrounds…

Just needs that yellow end replacing with white and orange diagonal stripes for a Portuguese vibe. Maybe the black end done out like a Medway loco 8-)

IMO it makes the 37 look really dated. It’s a bit patchy and the window surrounds look awful,a bit like an elongated Fell loco.

I don't think it looks so good either - I know the orange is meant to represent HNRC, but because the border is angled like Colas, to me it looks like a cross between Colas orange and DRS blue, which I don't think represents their brand well.

I assume it's going on to Nemesis at Burton?

Is there anything to read into the fact that it was a WCRC loco hauling this with respect of new owners of 47703?

Probably not. Considering WCRc went Carnforth - Doncaster Wabtec - Worksop - Burton, it. suggests a combined move was created and most likely Nemesis went to WCRc for said move.

If my memory serves me correctly when 31128 is out and about on the main line it runs as a WCRC movement as Nemesis doesn't have its own licence/authority

Correct. WCRC does a lot of the movement by rail for Nemesis as they don’t have their own operating licence.

Thanks for the info guys!

I've now seen it reported elsewhere that 47703 is owned by Nemesis Rail

Hi folks,
I'm taking a trip to the area on Monday 21 July. Can anyone kindly advise if the locos and stock at worksop are visible from public areas? As I'm travelling a long way by train, I want to maximise opportunities. Thanks.

You'll need your camera set to video record as the train from Sheffield will be too fast to get the numbers of the 20's and 37's on the left before you get to Worksop station. The best views are from Tesco's car park. You used to get a good look from outside at B&Q but I think everything at the station end has been moved away
