IC225s on Leeds services

Hi,
Does anyone know if Intercity 225 sets still run on off-peak Leeds-London services? I just want to ask this for a trip I have in the next few days, so I can make a plan for it. Thanks.

Yes they definitely do. I believe only a small number of trains are formed of Azumas. Most others will be hauled by class 91s, or a small number of HSTs.

On the contrary. Azumas now appear to work the majority of Leeds services according to LNERs website, however if it helps I have definitely seen 91s on Leeds services on the last Thursday.

Well Trust disagrees- using today as an example- looking between Leeds and London at every allocation between the first train and 16:15- only 5 are Azumas. 17 are loco hauled stock or HSTs.
The odd one or two currently unallocated. Yesterday was very similar.

Your best bet is probably to look at your intended journey for the day(s) you are are interested in on the LNER website journey planner, as that shows which trains are intended to be operated by an Azuma.

Obviously, things can change on the day, but that is likely to be your best guide for planning.

Hello all, been long time lurker on this forum..been watching the introduction of the Azuma closely..I think the following are still 91 0700, 0740, 0915, 0945, 1015, 1145, 1215, 1315, 1515, 1545, 1615, 1745, 1916, 2045. The 1615 and 2045 convert to Azuma in September. The following are HST 0605, 0715, 0815, 1245, 1445, 1845. Rest are Azuma.
