'Interesting' journey this morning on the 0853 Redhill (ex-Horsham) to Victoria. Four cars only (if running 60% of the service, why a stock shortage!?) and heaving by Coulsdon South. First class almost full by Redhill, including a family of four who had standard class tickets (I saw them) and decided to leave their double buggy unfolded in the vestibule. This alone doubled the dwell time at almost every station en route, and tripled it at Clapham Junction, where they faffed about try to get it off the bulging train - it folds for a reason! We also called at the up fast platform at Purley, which caused confusion, and then, at the Victoria home signal stopped (on the relief line) to pick up a member of staff and carry him into Victoria!
