Ireland Fares and ending short/BoJ - specifically DART at the moment

Very quick question - I'm currently in my first trip to Ireland with some family and we are looking to get the train in to Dublin tomorrow rather than drive. Nearest station here is Coolmine and we probably need Connelly. However we will probably then return from Landsdowne Road (Aviva Stadium) back into Dublin to have a meal and that back to Coolmine

If we do a €6 return from Coolmine to LR, will we be able to leave the station in Dublin outbound and will we be able to break journey in Dublin in the way back? I understand Ireland's CoC are a bit different to what I'm used to in the UK!

No break of journey permitted on DART/Suburban.

You would need separate tickets (as per condition 37 in the attached).

It's not that long a walk from Lansdowne Road into the city centre.

For future reference, you can get a visitor LEAP card (available only at Dublin Airport) which gives unlimited travel in Dublin for 72 hours on buses, trains and LUAS for €19.

Slightly confusing based on condition 8 and 37 being at odds with each other. Seems like a silly idea to not allow it, especially given travel plans change

Turns out it was a Commuter service - quite impressed overall with the 29000 Class, although slam doors between coaches seems a bit weird given the relative youth of the units

I'm not quite sure what that comment is supposed to mean?

The 29000 sets are some of the most reliable units around, and do what they are supposed to do - carry large amounts of commuters in and out of Dublin?

not as hectic as much of Europe. Small towns, villages have not lost their charme. The narrow country roads are almost unique in todays Europe.
As to the rail system. It is not as hectic as many others. While the timetable has now a frequent service, more modern trains are in operation, the pace is still very relaxed, small countryside station changed little and are in an excellent condition.

I am sorry if you feel attacked if we don't attest Ireland full Japanese style modernity, but I think Ireland has qualities that should be preserved because once its gone, its gone.

Funnily enough we have said it feels like a time warp. Even down to the Pizza Hut we visited the other day having branding that hasn't been used for years in the UK and old branding we saw for PC World and Currys

Rail wise, I have now used a 22000 Class too - nice units though the length was a slight issue at Coolmine (only one set of DOO monitors cue a load of passengers having to leg it down the platform). Also feel very thankful for so many clock face services in the UK - we were looking from trains back from Dublin Pearse the other night and they were at 1830, 1859, 1940, 2008, 2110, 2208 and 2310. In the peaks there are occasionally only 6 mins between services.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm really enjoying my time over here - just a few observations
