Someone had posted these comments in a facebook group, and would value some feedback in that respect. Can people confirm or deny these claims.

Is Freightliner the company for sale?

Or is it just their Australian outfit?

I've heard that it was the whole Freighliner group...

but it seems to have gone quiet recently.

The ownership is by some offshore (Gulf states?) outfit anyway. Changes of ownership are not unusual when a company like that is owned offshore anyway. That's happened with the rolling stock leasing companies in the UK to such an extent that no-one takes any notice any more.
