If I have a train ticket from Huntingdon to Kings Cross Return, is it possible for me to go from Kings Cross to Cambridge and then from Cambridge to Huntingdon?

Bit of an odd question but I don't understand train tickets.

No mention of Cambridge as the shortest route or by direct train (correct me if I'm wrong!)

Huntingdon is part of Hitchin or Peterborough Group
Huntingdon - London Terminals is £23.30
Hitchin - London Terminals is £14.30
Peterborough - London terminals is £49.50

Hitchin passes the fare check but Peterborough does not so it's time to look at mapped routes for Hitchin - London Group which is on map EE

That map doesn't allow journeys via Cambridge so you'd be going off route.

Thank you SS4!

I saw the ticket and someone asked the question and I had no idea haha. So I appreciate the help you've given me!

Brilliant answer. Is there a rating system? ;)

I've changed the thread title so that it now complies with our new forum rules.

If you bought a ticket from Peterborough instead, it would then be valid via Cambridge.
