Especially as anyone making that journey can save over a third by using a ticket splitting site!Adlington to Adlington, such as on https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/L19120/2020-09-25/detailed ?
In my area I doubt there are many Apperley Bridge to
Kirkstall Forge tickets sold. Both are predominantly P&R stations for Leeds.
There's probably loads that don't have a single ticket sold in a year. Clifton to Meols Cop, Alsager to Peartree and Heald Green to Salwick can all be done on direct trains but I would be surprised if any tickets are sold between them.
Me too. Its a really pleasant walk from Five Ways station thro to Bournville Station along the canal. Done it many times.
Apart from between pairs of lightly used stations on rural lines, probably stations on some of the “artificial” (I know, but I couldn’t think of a better word) routes concocted by bolting together pairs of routes either side of a big city to avoid dwell times in busy city stations. So up here, something like Walsden to Daisy Hill
It doesnt take that long, especially if you're a brisk walker. Five Ways to Bournville, ive done it in about 45 minutes. The tow path is very busy with both cyclists and pedestrians. Its very pleasant, especially late spring thro to mid autumn.I've always wanted to do it. How long does it take? I'm a pretty brisk walker.
Down here in South Wales, I wonder how many people travel one stop from say Tir Phil to Brithdir or somewhere
I'm surprised by that, I'd just walk along the canal!
Doh beat me to it, although I was going to say Stonehaven to Redruth !Pre-Covid, how about Stonehaven to St.Erth?
What about the Caledonian Sleeper?
While it's theoretically possible to make a journey like Tulloch to Carstairs or Preston as a direct journey, I doubt anyone does it.
