Morning All

i have now started to update all my Electric loco collections

Next collection features LNER Electric Bo-Bo Class EM1 (Pre TOPS) Locomotives

Starting off with the Prototype loco built by the LNER as 6701 in the 1940’s and shipped to Holland

The EM1's were Bo+Bo (the two bogies were articulated together).

(I guess you could have a debate about whether they should be classified as BR locos, since the LNER never really used them in revenue service and all the production batch were built in BR days ;) )

Interesting historical photos though - brings back memories of seeing them on parcel trains at Guide Bridge in the late 1970s :) (in BR blue by then of course)

Some very evocative shots there Neil, heartbreaking to see those grounded bodies at Reddish ETD towards the end though. As the crow flies Iam typing this just 1mile from that very spot.
