After a fairly extensive search of the delay / repay posts I can't find an answer to the following question. LNER no longer appears to offer return tickets for Soham (SOJ) to Edinburgh (EDI). If I book two (advance) singles for the outward and return journey in one transaction and I am delayed by more than 2 hours in reaching either EDI on the outward journey or SOJ on the return will the delay/ repay amount be 100% of the combined value of both single tickets?. Is the position different if I book the tickets in separate transactions (as the return tickets will not be available till a couple of days after the outward journey)?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Speaking from experience, so long as your journey (Soham - Edinburgh) comes under 1 booking reference you would get 100% refund of any tickets used to complete that journey should you be delayed 2 hours or more.

Your tickets will be singles and will be treated as such for Delay Repay purposes.

100% delay repay for a 2+ hour delay only applies to return tickets and LNER do not sell return tickets any longer so the maximum you will get is 100% of the single ticket.

Remember, this is the simplification that passengers have been asking for.....

I struggle to have a problem with this to be honest, it doesn't make any sense to me to have different rules for singles and returns when traditionally people on singles have often paid more, not less.

My feelings depend on whether I am using a single or return, if I suffer a 1 hour plus delay.

:)

Fair point.

To be fair I think I've had a delay of that magnitude about twice ever. It's really not that common unless you live on the Conwy Valley or Far North etc where one small delay can cause that to happen. So it doesn't really bother me. There are many more things about LNER's pricing policy that bother me far more (see relevant threads) :)
