LNER Unreserved Coach

I was recently in an unreserved coach C, all the seats were showing as available but somehow still got kicked out my seat twice by people who had somehow been given reservations there.

I was under the impression that coach C was always unreserved, or has this changed recently? This was on a 225 not an azuma if that makes any difference.

Half of Coach C on Azumas I believe, not all of it.

Not too sure about 225s though - before the Azumas arrived, it was a portion of Coach B that was unreserveable on the 225 sets.

Five-car and 10-car: 1-38.

225s should be similar but the displays are often bust so it's difficult to tell.

C is last to be reserved (when you're doing it online) as you can't use anything like the LNER seat selector for it - it's just randomly allocated when the rest is full up.

I'd be extremely interested to hear if this has changed though and seats are getting allocated towards the low numbered ones.

Coach C on Azuma is atill
Roughly half the lower numbered seats unreserved.

On Mk4 there is a lot of work ongoing with the reservation displays as they seem to fail more times than they work. If they were all showing as Available, often it is because the reservations have not downloaded.
