Can confirm the machine at Lapworth is still there and fully functional
Looks like they've turned the power off it completely now. Unlike Thameslink who've blocked the coin slots of their machines but haven't turned them offSouth Ruislip's machine still extant on 06 Dec, but inactive and with parts missing as previously reported in post #26.
Neither of them work. They have both been broken for over a decade now. I highly doubt they will ever work.Have just seen the one at Warnham (on the Horsham Bound Platform). Couldn't tell if it was Working...
Also at Holmwood on Horsham Platform
The one at Salfords was working last time i went there. But that was a while ago so who knows now. Most of them are broken now so it would not surprise me if the one at Salfords is now too. But if you are in the area it is certainly worth checking.Does anyone know if the one at Salfords (Surrey) is still in working order?
Best to use an old 5/10/20p/50p (pre coat of arms version)?
It's usually on pay at ticket office. So I think the staff need to turn it on, except the ticket office is usually closed.Does anyone know if the one at Salfords (Surrey) is still in working order?

To the tune of huge firework displays from the third rail, I was disappointed by the machine "Buy at ticket office". It must have meant the ticket machine. Was worth a try though! Fancied one for the collection. The machine is there mind you!I'll throw some change at it tomorrow to see if it works, will report back.
Yeah I thought it would be. The ticket office at Salfords is only open in the early mornings I think, so that's when they'd need to turn it on.To the tune of huge firework displays from the third rail, I was disappointed by the machine "Buy at ticket office". That's one of the few that are actually maintained, they even replaced the ink on that one not long ago.The one at Little Kimble was still working when i visited 29 November.
Many thanks for the information. That is a shame. There are hardly any working ones left these days. Was down on coastway today so I thought I'd provide a small update.
Newhaven Harbour PERTIS still there but sadly with no power. The one on the Seaford-bound platform has been removed, as well as the one at Newhaven Town.
I also visited Ford, East Worthing and Portslade, all of which had 'not in use' light on. Southease still has both PERTIS in place, the one on Lewes-bound platform has no power, didn't see the status of the other one but it is there.
Hi ,I visited Bishopstone in 29 nov 2022 and it is removedMany thanks for the information. That is a shame. There are hardly any working ones left these days.
I thought i would make a list of the current status of PERTIS machines on the Southern network from observations by myself and from other people on the forum:

There are also a few left on the Great Northern and Thameslink networks but i am pretty sure they are all broken.
Many thanks. Yes it appears it was removed a few months ago in the autumn. It was still there in the summer about six months ago. From your photo it looks like they have installed a defibrillator where it used to be.Hi ,I visited Bishopstone in 29 nov 2022 and it is removed
It is simply because the staff at the ticket office forget to switch the PATO light off when they close for the day. It is suppose to only be switched on when the ticket office is open but these days most staff forget and it is just left in PATO mode. I think because there are so few of them these days and because staff work at different ticket offices it is very easy for them to forget. Is there a reason for the machine to be set to pay at office when the office is closed?
I doubt itHi everyone. Any working PERTIS machine in Midlands please?
Is the Kings Sutton one still working?
Hatton and Lapworth are probably the best ones to try as they are usually still working.Hi everyone. Any working PERTIS machine in Midlands please?

I can confirm that the PERTIS machine at Hatton is still working but the red light lits.
Kings Sutton has been reported as replaced via TwitterHi everyone. Any working PERTIS machine in Midlands please?

I compiled a list of over 900 PERTIS machines showing the serial number when most machines were in use. Many thanks for the information. That is a shame. There are hardly any working ones left these days.

Red light still light as of today Sunday 22nd January 2023. When passing by the station. Thanks for the suggestions!
I can confirm that the PERTIS machine at Hatton is still working but the red light lits.
Many thanks for attaching that! That is an amazing list! That is a fantastic database with so much information. I have been keeping serial numbers too in more recent years but lots on your list i did not have so that is very helpful. Bishopstone was an annoying one though as the serial number plate had fallen off so i was never able to get the serial number from that one.I compiled a list of over 900 PERTIS machines showing the serial number when most machines were in use.
Adding those listed above shows that some machines moved around to replace faulty machines.
