I've just seen in the Radio Times for this week that London to Brighton: Side by Side is opening BBC Four's programming this coming Saturday (26 April), starting at 7 p.m. It's only five minutes but a lovely little film showing the route in 1953 and 1983. This was last shown on BBC Four in May last year.
I expect it will be available online via BBC iPlayer after broadcast: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00f2zxt
In 1953, the BBC made a point-of-view film from the London to Brighton train. In 1983, they did the same again. This is a film made of both runs at once, with every bridge, siding, tunnel and station running side by side in unlikely synchronisation.

I watched that (I live in Brighton & Hove) - I do rather wish they'd added some text/subtitles, perhaps documenting the stations as they went past, or showing other changes. It was all rather quick about from the start/end stations.
