I have to travel from London to Oxford tomorrow lunchtime for a business meeting. I have prebooked tickets from Paddington, but will it be easier to go from Marylebone via Banbury? And is the 12:45 departure a 168? Was wondering if I'd struggle to get on with the displaced FGW passengers using it as an alternative route. Any advice appreciated!

If you can postpone your meeting by 30 minutes the 1315 is a loco-hauled.

No idea about loadings, but I would have thought most people who haven't got a ticket already would go by express coach.

Thank you both. Am currently on Chiltern Mainline and, touch wood, it's on time and not all that busy. Cross Country seems to be running an hourly southbound service from Banbury.
