Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away (circa 2002 / 2003?) there was a community-built / homebrew rail simulator for Windows. It wasn't a commercial offering..think more along the lines of a 3d / isometric view with a very basic cabview option. It wasn't exactly heavy on scenery but it did use engine samples to decent effect and sounded pretty good at the time. Various routes were available for download.

Does this jog anyone's memory and can anyone remember what it was? Fifteen years after the fact its name is eluding me and I've finally lost the will to Google for it. Ta in advance!

EDIT. Funny how writing about something jogs the memory. I'm thinking of Rail3D. Clue's in the name  I need to go see how it's developed since its inception way back when.

OpenBVE perchance, or one of the non open variants.

Certainly sounds like it would be BVE 2 in that time period, now superceded by OpenBVE.

Thanks all. Nope, just edited my original post to reflect that it was actually Rail3D. I remember having BVE at the time and was also exploring other sims.
