We lost my son’s beloved Sonic The Hedgehog plush toy today (Friday, 23rd May) Central Line - West Ruislip - at 10.10am. We got on at Bank and got off at Holborn station. This toy means a world to us. Please if anyone seen it, could you let me know I’m sorry I’m trying to post this wherever I can.

Try making an enquiry Here to tfl to tell them where and when you lost the toy. They keep items for up to 3 months.

Not to be a pessimist but from my experience TFL aren't the best with lost property. I've lost stuff like camera batteries and headphones on the northern line before and have never had a response back saying they have found them.

Hopefully they get it back to you though.

Thank you for your reply. I filled the enquiry first thing in the morning. I’m trying to not be a pessimist too. I just hope the person cleaning the tube will actually hand it over as lost property and won’t just dispose of it, to believe is what left I guess Thanks again

If staff find it it will definitely get logged and entered into the lost property system.

The problem with TfL - and particularly the journey you have made - is that it can be collected by any number of members of the public first, who may not be as honest. For those who are honest, they won’t necessarily hand it in at the first station they pass through - for an especially busy stretch of the network such as the Central line in zone 1 this means that it could literally end up anywhere once the customer has changed trains.

I’ve know a lot of things to turn up in lost property, so I wouldn’t be too pessimistic. A quality description and photo, like what you’ve shared here, will very much increase the likelihood of finding it. Good luck!

@ajacob. Presume a suitably-sized replacement for the lost item could, if necessary, always be purchased using the likes of Ebay?

Hope Sonic turns up OK.

OC Domestic, who works in the nursery business always advises parents to buy a second item as soon as the original appears to be a favourite. Makes exchanging said item for cleaning, repairs etc much easier and losses are less stressful.

Good luck.

Thank you for your reply - yes it can end up anywhere like you said. I did mention this in the enquiry form, so hopefully they will consider that. There was no possibility to attach the photo, but I contacted tfl via messanger business chat and attached the photos. A very kind person replied saying they have passed the images onto the lost property department. I still have hope. Thanks again

Thank you for taking time to reply. Yes, the replacement is available but… it won't carry the same memories ❤️

Thank you for your reply. That’s genuinely wise advice that can save a lot of heartache later on. Fingers crossed Sonic will be returned to us. Thanks again.

@ajacob I copied your message to an internal message board and have been given a hopeful lead - I have sent you the details by pm. Hopefully Sonic will be back soon...

Good morning, would there by anyone please who knows the direct number for Ealing Broadway station lost property? We lost our son’s beloved Sonic The Hedgehog plush toy yesterday on Central line and the very kind person contacted me saying it might have been handed in Ealing Broadway station?

You'll have to go there directly I'm afraid. Lost property doesn't stay in local stations for a long time, usually less than a week, depending on when the collections are.

It is highly unlikely station staff will provide lost property information to a ‘random’ member of the public, unfortunately.

If it hasn’t been collected yet it will almost certainly have made its way to West Ham by now, given the elapsed time between loss and now.
