Read in my local free newspaper that Bridgend county borough council have decided to withdraw the railink bus service from Maesteg - Caerau from
14th January 2012.
However some of the money saved will be invested in local bus service 32/36 Cymmer - Maesteg - Llangynwydd - Bridgend which will be retimed and have a slight extension/diversion to the route so that buses serve Maesteg railway station and connect with rail services. Buses tend to be every 15-20 minutes Monday - Saturday and every 60-30 minutes on sundays, although there is no sunday train service to Maesteg at present.
Train tickets will be accepted on services 32/36 and this new offering allows passengers a bus link to Cymmer & Llangynwydd rathern than just up to Caerau/Blaencaerau.
