Although I wouldn't go on the metrolink ever, let alone just in pants.

Well, I rarely go on the metrolink, and even more rarely buy an actual metrolink ticket

Pants is also a commonly used word for "smart Trousers" in manc. My mrs is from the south west. It used to confuse the hell out of her when we first met, when I referredto my "work pants". She thought I had a special pair of boxers for work!!!:D .But yes, this seems to be a copy of the NY idea
