Hey everyone......
Manchester Ship Canal Loco 4001 is currently rusting away behind Winfields Store in Haslingden, does anyone know who owns it, how it ended up there, and how long its been there, i remember when i was very young they were allowing people into the cab, but it doesnt look like that would be allowed anymore.....

Ah! I never knew there was another one still in existance! I've sampled sister loco 4002 at the Lancs, it's a blinkin' truncheon now that it's unsilenced! :D

I didnt know either but came across a post on another forum I am on that says apparently both were bought by Dale Winfield and 4002 was donated to the ELR.

Also read elsewhere that parts from 4001 were used to reapir 4002.

Someone else more knowledgeable may confirm or deny all this though :)

Trams is my area not trains

Same owner as 4002 I believe. I got some phots of it on the way back from the ELR last year, bit of a rusting hulk.
