I have an advanced on the 1435 virgin train from Manchester Piccadilly to Stafford I have just checked the timetable and they say I have got to change at stoke the prob is my ticket is virgin trains only and the next virgin train from Manchester to Stafford is not till Sunday morning. There is no virgin train from Stafford to Stoke xc and LM won't accept virgin tickets only alternative is get virgin to Crewe then Crewe to Stafford.

What is the route on your ticket? If it's Virgin Trains Only I suggest you will need to construct an itinerary using VT only, i.e. via Crewe as you suggest.

Which timetable have you checked?
Times may well have been altered because of the cancelled engineering work at Watford.
You need to turn up at Piccadilly in good time for the train shown on your itinerary.
It's up to Virgin and Co to sort things out for you.

I received an email from Virgin Trains earlier this afternoon which said:

Following up on our previous email to you last week, we are pleased to confirm that a new timetable for 14-16 February is now in place for the postponed Watford Blockade weekend.

...

Over the affected weekend, there are a number of previously advertised services and stops that will no longer be running (including, but not limited to, the removal of a Manchester to Rugby and Milton Keynes service, calling at Stafford, Birmingham International and Coventry). Passengers for these journeys will be able to travel on other train operators with their original ticket(s).
