Thinking about a trip to Manchester. As an ENCTS holder the price £8 looks good value.
However the website suggests the ticket is only available in the Wayfarer Area.
As it is valid from Grindleford on the Hope Valley line I would really like to use it in conjunction with ticket to there (or a Derbyshire Wayfarer).
Questions,
Is the ticket only available in the Manchester Wayfarer area, or would any PayPoint retailer be able to sell it?
Could I buy on a Hope Valley stopping train? (or a non stopping?)
Would it be valid with a Derbyshire Wayfarer or other Hope Valley ticket on a non stopping train?

Thanks
Alan

All Northern onboard staff could issue it on Avantix (and I presume now STARMobile but don't quote me on that), and I believe it is in every ticket office based ticket issuing system, so in theory I'd say any ticket retailing staff can sell it, if they know how to do it on their particular system. The rules about only selling in the validity area stems from the days where a Wayfarer was special 'scratchcard' ticket stock.

They can also be sold at PayPoint machines at local shops and garages but it might be advisable to print the instructions for issuing them off the TfGM website as while the machines can issue them the retailers don't always know what to do!

Thanks for your help so far.
I have now asked at our local shop ( I live near Chesterfield), but told they can not see TfGM Wayfarer on their terminal. We are just outside the TfGM Wayfarer area, maybe that is the reason? I will ask at another PayPoint shop in case the assistant wasn't looking in the right place....
I would much prefer to get my ticket before setting out, especially as I would like to use it in conjunction with another ticket! TfGM website says the Wayfarers are available from Staffed train stations, or from the conductor on the train if the ticket office is close, again implying in the Wayfarer area only.
I will ask at Chesterfield if they can sell me a ticket, I assume that the stations in the Hope Valley are unstaffed? If so would I be able to buy on the (stopping?) train?
Finally would this ticket be valid with a Derbyshire Wayfarer?
Thanks
Alan

Chesterfield station are able to sell it but won't know how. It might help to tell them that it's listed under Rovers and Rangers and the code is K816. Make sure they give you the right Wayfarer, not a second Derbyshire one!

You can use the combination of Wayfarers on a train, but it might have to be a stopping train depending on how condition 14.2 is interpreted - I'm not sure about this point

If you board a train with a Derbyshire Wayfarer, the conductor should be happy to sell you a Manchester one. Strictly speaking, if they don't come round, you'd legally need to leave the train at New Mills

What is available on the shops terminal depends on what services the supplier(ie paypoint in this instance) has actually downloaded to the terminal as not all shops machines register the same services - depends on the terminal program, updates etc
