I did my run in 6m 40.5s......

TPWS was enabled and I didn't break any speed limits.

unless you have anything better to say 5872 then I wouldn't bother posting.

Anyway, Julian asked me to put on here (and check myself) please chack that you are:

-Using the new NWM version (i.e with the 80 boards down to 70, the longer 40 section ect)
-NOT using exessive brake force
-Using notch 3 at the most to pull away (not notch 5 and screaming and slipping all over the shop, sorry, tracks)

Expanding upon what was interesting would have been appreciated. I am also interested in how 6m40s is possible

Thanks James for clarifying even further the rules with your recent post. The most recent version, as far as I'm aware is 'Network West Midlands (Feb 2008)'. Should this not be the case, please do link me to another version.

I was using full power when pulling out of Maybank......is that not allowed?

There are strict rules and regulations that states you must pull away with Notch 3. Because you were using Full Power when pulling out, you will shot and your body fed to angry badgers.

may i just say actually in real life if you are on the straight it is possible to build up power from notch one then when in motion straight through to notch 5, north from leicester is the best for this 8-)

took me 7 mins and 12 seconds from start to stop
Did have overspeed indicator leaving maybank between the 40 section and 70... applied power a tad too early. Other than that... within the limits

7m15s was my best record the other day. No overspeed, no excessive braking.

Currently I'm contemplating where on the route overspeeding would be possible without risk of derailment etc. After all, when they set a speed record between London and Bristol years ago some restrictions were 'lifted' for this one and only attempt. When I figure out these sections, I'll post.

to be honest.. i dont think you need to go down to 60 for whitminster... staying at 70 would be fine... and the 40 at Riverside could be put back to the platforms??
just my views

Currently, that falls in line with my thoughts on the matter. I have yet to try it though, when I do I shall report back.

Leaving Maybank at 14.00, and getting a few double oranges, line speed, and only using B2 into Maybank I got 7m13.

@Carl

I think the 60 through Whitminster is due to jointed track, and the same for Riverside.
