Exactly that's why it was/is rare to see all the engines running. Though all the cars having engines is a good idea, because when they shuffle sets they don't have to worry about trailers and the such.

On the 23rd September I was on a 4 car meridian and the car i was in had its engines isolated because of faults, which at the time was common

O L Leigh, you are the one that likes to come in making the 'factual' technical statements, i just come along and correct the facts for the good of man kind, sometimes correcting your posts can be quite taxing due to the levels of inaccuracies.

Pardon me, but I see no corrections. Nor, for that matter, can I see anything contradictory in what we've both contributed.

As this is not the first time you've taken a personally offensive approach to my contributions that I must conclude you have some issue with me. I can assure you that I have no issue with you beyond the chip that you evidently carry on your shoulder. Perhaps you would be so kind as to stop being so childish.

Thank you, Slash.

are you concerned that I'm undermining you.
I'm confident that even after 4 1/2 years out of the job, a plastic driver isn't going to undermine my technical knowledge.
It's a good job you goto work each day TN, otherwise the railway wouldn't be able to function.

What the...? Have you read anything I've written?

I've asked you this before and you failed to answer then, but I'm going to ask again now. If you want to make snide insinuations perhaps you'd better do it by PM so that we can have this out and clear the air. You've clearly got issues with me and I want them sorted.

The Meridians have been sent to Longsight at one point for tyre turning.

Seems they've been to lots of places! Thats good that one is being built at Derby, less will be out of service having to actually travel to have their wheels done.

this new extended depot they're building in Derby will have no doubt, I thought they went to Central Rivers though, as it's Bombardier's own?

Probably broke or overloaded with small flat wheels hence why it went to Pakistan Longsight.

I didn't know Bombardier maintained some of Arriva's fleet?

All of it, seeing as Virgin don't have the XC franchise they don't use Central Rivers anymore, atleast I don't think so. Part of the contract was for Central Rivers to be home to the Arriva fleet IIRC.

Oh! I forgot Arriva run CrossCountry! They really should put their name on it somewhere, are they too ashamed to use their own name!
