Some can't be used without an overhaul (which isn't going to happen) so they just end up taking up stabling space.Seems a bit premature given that the 777's are not yet in service.
The run the other day was ROG 57312/37884, they ran to North and coupled to a 507/8 for driver familiarisation then headed back to Leicester. A friend of mine snapped pics of the pair in North WalesThey will be the tfw units that go on the depot every Friday and Saturday. The 508s to go first dont leave for another two weeks and familiarisation isnt necessary as the move has been done plenty of times

Does anyone know if a new 777 movement from Europe will be taking place his week?
Which units are these likely to be?The next move is supposedly an 8 car delivery next week.
Which units are these likely to be?
YesRumoured 777008 & 777010.
And apparently arriving next Wednesday (19th).It's is definitely these two units
There have been a few issuesHow many have the new units have accumulated so far and had any hardware or software issues been raised ?
Apart from the Berlin U-Bahn IK, the Berlin S-Bahn 483/484 and Stadler's Minsk Metro trains. There have been a few issues around line voltage which is to be expected considering these are pretty unique to Stadler with being third rail.
Only one in the UK
They have to test the networkAh very good! Any lines in particular? I would have thought they’ll keep the test unit(s) close to Kirkdale on the Kirkby or Ormskirk line.
They have to test the full network to satisfy Network rail. Starting with Northern line I believe , Huntscross first then Aintree from Sunday evening
Check yourself when the paths are setVery interesting! Thank you for that!
I take it that it will be some weeks before they venture up to Southport on daytime/evening test runs?
Ah that's a shame, I remember the old printed timetables from the 80's and 90's and it was always 110 shown on the front.Slightly off topic, but the Mersey Railways page on Facebook has reported that 508110 has been officially withdrawn.

Can you put a link on here to that thread please?Already noted in the Merseyrail 507’s/508’s thread.

So that basically means the 777's will not be working on the Southport routes for the time being once in service?Yes they are being scrapped, however some 507s will be retained for a couple of years while they lengthen the platforms on the Southport lines. The first two units go next week and all are being scrapped at Newport. Angel are keeping the original name plates fitted to the 508s so you might be able to contact them and buy one.
