Today was the first time in about 4 weeks I've been kicked off because of a 'train fault'.
I do hunts cross to Fazakerley to get to work and can definitely see them getting more reliable.
Four weeks? I haven't been kicked off a faulty train for years.

Last year I'd encounter it probably weekly on the Kirkby line and have to get off at Kirkdale or sandhills.
More often than not though it was just cancellations, lots and lots of cancellations.
Last month or two has been very reliable however.

As someone who commutes daily on the 777s since they were introduced in December I’ve only ever had to get off once when the doors of 001 failed at Southport

No issues yesterday with my first 777 trip (1121 Hunts Cross to Southport, 2S22). Seems nice, PIS quite attractive, seats quite generous (a bit hard, but fine for this length of journey), good view, very quiet, just 1 minute late at Southport, overall very positive. I overheard a few people talking about the "new trains" and didn't hear any complaints.

Quite a few racegoers joined travelling to the first day of the Aintree meeting (and then changed at Liverpool Central for the "Aintree Express", the class 1 special raceday services stopping only at Central, Moorfields and Aintree).

Can confirm the delivery at Dollands Moor is 555s for the North East not 777s. None of the various issues to hold up that delivery should have any impact on the 777s.

Further to the increase in diagrams for the 777s there still appears, according to PTS, to be about 4 spare diagrams, ignoring Headbolt Lane. Is there any indication yet as to where these might be for?

You know what I find interesting and only just realised. The 777s don’t have the orange door indicator on the outside. Are there any other units without this operating ?

This is a pain for those of us who use an authorised walking route across the line (in my case Chester) - when waiting to cross if theres a train in the platform with headlights on and no BIL/Hazards you can be sure station duties are complete and it will likely be moving shortly. You know its safe to cross if the orange BIL/Hazard lights are illuminated as station duties are in progress. If they go off while crossing you know to get a move on!

On the 777s you have no way of knowing if the doors are open or closed and just have to either cross quick and hope for the best or wait indefinitely until it leaves. Obviously you can make an educated guess based on the clockface timetable but can't be sure if it's a late running service etc.

Presumably both 777038 & 777051 were moved from Walton to Kirkdale last night, can anyone confirm please?

I had received confirmation from a third party source that both Units were moved. Consequently I have updated the location list accordingly.

Kirkdale C.S. = 001 to 028 inclusive, 030, 031, 032, 034, 036, 038, 039, 041 049, 051, 140, 142, 144, 146, 148, 150 and 152.
WOJn MSC Sidings = None
Long Marston = 029, 037, 043, 045 and 053.

Just leaves 033, 035 and 047 to arrive from Europe.
