It appears there have been some problems with the Northern Line on Merseyrail this morning. Some sources show this as being due to power supply problems around Sandhills whilst another source has suggested a broken down train?

Seems as though things are getting back to normal now, but can anyone shed any light on what happened please?

Cheers

I think there has also been a broken down train at Birkenhead Hamilton Square, after the initial incidents which Loop & Link has explained about occurred.

Merseyrail didn't have a great day today. The first two incidents on the Northern line followed by the incident mentioned above. Added to that was a 45 minute delay to a Chester-Liverpool service due to a passenger being taken ill. Thankfully, the train stopped at Bache which is close to the Countess of Chester hospital. Hopefully the passenger will recover asap.
