It is the 175th anniversary of the formation of the Midland Railway on 10th May.
Accordingly, the Midland Railway Society will be holding an exhibition in Derby that weekend, notably in the Midland Railway Hotel, one of the first railway hotels in the country, to provide more information about the Midland and its history. It is free to enter, open from 1000 - 1600 and extends from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th May.
The Midland Hotel is directly across from Derby Station front entrance. Anyone visiting Derby that weekend is invited to look in to find out more about the Midland Railway.
