MK4 accident question

I am just wondering how many MK4s had been written off due to the terrible great heck and Hatfield incidents? I am sure I remember being told that only around 4 coaches plus a DVT between the incidents had been written off and that some were put into store until project mallard, rebuilt and then put back into service.

After all EC still have 30 sets in service.

The Selby accident brings me to tears if I think bout it for too long. Especially the driver staying at this post keeping on the control until the end, probably knowing he wouldn't survive.
