More of a hypothetical idea than speculative (Pacers).

So Northern has run its last Pacer in passenger service.
Before they're scrapped why not make a little money out of them.
Send a couple down south (for those who've never travelled on one and perhaps never seen one close up).
Sunday "Enthusiasts' Specials" for a couple of Sundays.
Curious to know how many forum members living south of Nottingham would have been interested enough to book.
It would be awesome to see one standing in Platform 8 at KGX waiting for its enthusiastic passengers.

My guess is that - if Covid wasn't a "thing" - there probably would have been some sort of farewell event taking place. That was the suggestion made at an invited event by a Northern manager (when it was still Arriva, just) way back before the pandemic.

They did a farewell pacer tour in Devon when the last one left GWR. Took in a few rare freight only lines around Exeter and Newton Abbot
