Is there an online journey planner where you can specify the stations at which you wish to change trains (maybe with stopover for a specified time) and also the operator for each sector?

A very simple example being:

East Croydon to Gatwick on Southern then Gatwick to Brighton on Gatwick Express.

Any help appreciated.

FastJP should be able to sort you out I would expect as it has very powerful via/avoid functions (including a force change at) as well as allowing you to specify operators to be included or excluded (though you can't do it per leg).

If you want to buy a ticket then Trains Can Be Cheaper (provided by the same people as FastJP) has basically the same functionality. But for pure planning FastJP will be your best bet.

Many thanks - I will give it a go.

In that example you are actually traveling with a single operator: Govia Thameslink Railway, who have a monopoly on that line (despite what they want people to believe!) ;)

But yes if you want a powerful journey planner use FastJP.com and if you want to book fares use trainscanbecheaper.co.uk with advanced mode enabled.

You can also force changes at particular locations, allow additional interchange time, etc.

I have always wished that there was an "at home" version of the ticket office based journey planner system we use at work. Nothing out there comes close in terms of flexibility, information and ease of use. Away from work I have always found it easiest to just work my journeys out manually with timetables and suchlike

Just been trying out the "FastJP" Journey Planner and it is brilliant. The only extra option that would be good would be to specify an operator per sector.

Thank you

Just wondered if anyone else was having this issue with "FastJP". I use McAfee antivirus on my desktop computer and it warns that this site is "Very Risky". I am assuming this is a false positive so have therefore specified the site as being trusted to stop the warning. On my Android Smartphone I get the same issue where the applicable version of McAfee is again installed. I cannot however find anyway of specifying a particular site as trusted in this app version of the antivirus software. My only option when needing to use FastJP is to temporarily turn off website security.

Any thoughts appreciated.
