There was disruption on Tuesday night in Taunton area, due to a person hit by train at Cogload.

I was doing 17.00 St Austell-Paddington, my train reversed at Exeter, using platform 1, and departed via Honiton and Castle cary.

Our Train Manager had a pilot as he didn’t sign the route, we had to wait for a couple of 159’s on the single track bits, we ended up 53 mins late in to Paddington.

I don’t know what overall disruption was like, as I was having a Pullman meal, which helped pass the time, and was interesting to do the Honiton route.

Of course my thoughts go out to all the staff involved in the incident and passengers caught up in the disruption.

It seemed to me to be well handled, and I was probably lucky to get through London relatively unscathed.
