On April 6th (My birthday) I went to Preston by train with my grandmother and grandfather. We don't live far from the station but we decided to drive up. Once we got to Oxenholme Lake District and had parked up we headed into the station, the train was scheduled for 11:14, it arrived right on time, it was a TPE 185 leased to Northern.

Luckily we had reserved seats and the carriage wasn’t crammed full, long story short we went shopping in Preston and after a few hours went back to Preston station.

Our train back was a Virgin 390 Pendolino, since I have fear of falling down things I was scared due to the big gap between the train and the platform, once I had got on and got to my reserved seat I was absolutely fuming to find that my seat had no window, this meant I had to stand and look out another window when going over the Lancaster viaduct, once we were back in Oxenholme turns out it was Virgin Hero the Poppy Appeal Pendolino!

And that’s my first post done!

Aye that is a problem with the interior of a 390, there is a few seats which give a lovely view of plastic.

On the positive side, at least the plastic blocked out the awful sight of Preston. :)

The interior is awful in standard. When I did my recent All Line Rover (ALR) I was lucky to be in first class. A much better window alignment .
I'm glad you had a good trip to Preston.
Hopefully you'll do more trips in the future.
