Hi.
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a mystery train carrage which has just arrived the the old Springburn St Rollox rail works?. It arrived on the back of an Allelys heavy haulage truck this afternoon and entered the yard via back entrance next to Tesco escorted by police motorcycles. The train carriage was completely wrapped in a blue tarpaulin so it was impossible to identify, however the outline looked very much like an HST powercar and there was a ScotRail vehicle parked in the car park at the Charles street entrance.
As the yard is no longer operational (as far as I'm aware) the arrival of this train came as somewhat of a surprise.
Any information relating to the identity of this train or its reason for being delivered to the works would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Is it not a vehicle involved in the Stonehaven accident?

It’s 43030, the rear power car from the Carmont derailment.

Thanks for the information 43096.
I missed most of the action but caught the tail end of it being moved into one of the train sheds. I had an incline that it could have been one of the Stonehaven powercars but didn't want to speculate incase I was way off the mark.

Personally, I only seen the power car arriving but I only spotted the activity around 4pm this afternoon. The lorry in the background was already present in the yard before the power car arrived so its possible that another carrage could have arrived earlier this afternoon.

Phillip Haigh did say on Twitter that 2 vehicles were recovered yesterday and a third today, seems feasible that other low loaded had the 4th coach on it.

Apparently 43140 was also lifted in one piece, but I cannot confirm this and have not seen any photos of the lift

They have a 7 years lease on the site.
One vehicle a day to be recovered from Thursday last week. So probably another 3 to go to complete the set.
It will be put into secure storage so probably nothing to see other than the delivery.
