I'm really impressed with Network Rail's twitter presence in general.

I love the infographics, time-lapse and aerial videos of major works regularly posted by @NetworkRail, and the way in which they interact such as inviting submissions for the profile image of the month.

Kent and Sussex also posted this thread the other day going into what's encoded into the letters and numbers of train headcodes...

When the signals went down in the East Croydon area on the 18 Dec 2019, Network Rail was extremely helpful & useful in much the same vain as above, uploading route diagrams, pictures of all the trains trapped on the lines, explanation of the local power failure.
The Southern/TL twitter feed on the other hand...yeh...

Colour me impressed. A nice, factually correct explanation of what's going on. Much better than the nonsensical explanations that end up in TV programs.

Sadly some people still think it's not good enough, but hopefully it helps some people to feel happier that they're not just getting fobbed off with automated messages that don't accurately describe the problem.

Just shows what can be done if you employ literate and knowledgeable people to update Twitter.

Many TOCs should take note but, of course, will not.

Network Rail's social media team is good generally speaking. Like someone has already mentioned they have employed people who can communicate well with public.

Yes, definitely a good job by network rail!

Explained in simple but serious language with obvious pictures to show the seriousness of the problem.

The explanation of why the service frequency had to be reduced that was really clear as well.

Superb. Expect a lot more of this. (Explanation, hopefully not broken crossings in awkward places).
