Has anyone seen these about lately? I've heard a bit of their HSTs being around, but nothing on the 31s.

31465 has been seen out and about on the Anglia region over the past month together with a push-pull test train in various formations.

I find a good way to track interesting locos is to search for their TOPS numbers on the Fotopic main page. Generally they attract quite a lot of interest and so there tends to be quite a few pics of their most recent outings.

there was a mention in Joint Line that an ex-NR 31 may be coming to reside on the NNR. Don't know if that means they are reducing the fleet

31602 is sat in Three Bridges Upside Yard at this exact minute! on a test train with 73107 'Redhill' this combination is a regular visitor to these parts.

Aye, would've been, how many do network rail have out of interest? Just the pair?

NR actually own about three or four IIRC, RVEL supply a good handful more as required through their own locos and BARS. In total I think about 8 or 9 31's can be mustered up. I've got the official list at work, but I can't access my work email from home at the moment. Two of the NR ones are modded for working with the SGT, extra lamp brackets and forward facing standard definition video recording kit.
