This notion of yours that Beaconsfield has old and horrible trains would be more accurate if it was expressed over 30 years ago. What's so horrible about the 165s/168s?
When I said "horrible" - I was thinking the 2-3 seating 165s: old, dirty, noisy, vibrating, no tables, barely anywere to even put a coffee down, no seat power, etc. etc.
While they're old, if the seats on Chiltern's Turbos are still the same as on GWR's, they're rather more comfortable than on newer stock. Last time I returned from Bristol to Guildford, the Turbo from Reading felt much more comfortable than the class 800 on the main line had been. Thanks all. That's disappointing.

There is a tender for new units and you can read about that here:Hi,
We are thinking of moving from London to Beaconsfield, one of the (small) downsides as a London commuter would be that the trains to Beaconsfield are so old and horrible.
Does this forum know when they will be replaced with something new?
Thanks,
