Well, started a new job on tues (19/09), with the added bonus of the GWML out of Plymouth to Exeter running alongside, literally. So much so, every time a train goes past, you can quiet clearly identify what it is, it's that bad, esepcially when the HST's go past Exeter-bound starting the climb up Hemerdon Bank lol! Don't worry, I'm not skiving off at every opportunity to watch the trains, I do have work to do! lol :-P

When Dad's work moved back to Farnborough alongside the South Western Mainline he ensured his bench was at the window. I seem to remember it had a saw taken to the corner of it to fit around a pillar  Just outisde his window is good for photos with a train every few minutes, although indoors is good for sitting and watching the regular trains as it has to be kept to a nice cool temperature due to the electronics or something.

lol Of course! ;) Well, I did manage to see a Virgin 57 heading light Exeter bound today, plus the usual HST's, a few 158's including 750, & a 159. Also, have notice a few of the new MTU-engined units are running down here, you can tell as you don't have that 'woosh' a Valenta-powered unit has, but then I guess you already know that lol. ;)

Hah my desk at work looks right out over the ECML at Stevenage - my office building is right next to the line. Great for watching trains, but I don't think my workmates appreciate it all that much as the building shakes and the noise permeates the office quite easily when the GNER sets go past, especially the screaming HSTs...

Like I said, I havn't got time to stand all day watching what goes past! lol ALthough when on lunch & having a cig outside (we're not allowed to smoke inside! lol), I did see 158765 heading Exeter bound, & a Central Trains liveried 158 Plymouth bound, & a Voyager lol.

Tell you what I have seen a few times over the past week, & got a sight of it again today, is the Vovo coach in one of the sets (it's the one with the screens built into the headrests, & other gizmos on it as well), painted in grey/silver with Vovo branding etc. on the side. Sticks out like a sore thumb against the rest of the train! lol
