There was a thread (now closed) on new 7xx services.
I’ve just seen the proposed timetable for the 725 bus service, and it shows calling points at Welwyn Garden City Bus Station, followed by Hatfield, Comet Hotel only 15 minutes later.
Now either the planners are being wildly optimistic in their assessment of traffic on the roads, or these new services cannot be calling at QE2 Hospital or Hatfield Town Centre. This severely limits the attractiveness or indeed usefulness of such a service, surely?

Interesting routing as it is missing out Hatfield Railway station. It seems to go via Stanborough out of Welwyn Garden City then down comet way. I guess the university is a bigger draw of passengers then the town and the station which already have lots of buses to both Welwyn Garden City and St Albans.

45 minutes to get from St Albans Station to Watford Junction at 8am seems ambitious, unless there's a lot more bus lanes these days

Yes, there are plenty of very optimistic timetabling on that route - I assume it will be using the A1(M).

Also the limited stop hourly 908 service to Welwyn Garden City is something like 13 minutes quicker than the 301, hardly seems worth it

From bustimes dot org, it looks as if 2 buses are working the 908 and the SB18 (also an hourly service) alternately
