New Stagecoach bus livery

First never put ‘Transforming travel’ on buses and only a small few had a variant of ‘We believe that buses are the future’
Some First buses say "Buses that go all the way for Sheffield" on the side.

And yes, I have seen one stuck at the side of the road having broken down partway along a route.

I was in the right place at the right time today to capture one of Stagecoach West's (Swindon Depot) two repaints, leaving Chippenham on its way back "home".

I can see what the designer was intending, and how it probably looked good on the drawings, but I'm not convinced it works in reality, less still, what it will look like in those town and city centres where Stagecoach dominates and there will eventually be lots on view together in a street scene.

Still, the driver had a beaming smile as he passed me, clearly proud to be driving it and to be photographed.

Stagecoach...We've got you....who came up with that? The beach ball seems to move depending on the Opco too..it's quite like the Mayflower livery, just not in the same league. It just feels like it's missing something on the side it does beat the school bus yellow tho.

Would look better if the rear beachball was an outline. As it is it's quite overpowering.

Same person who came up with "we're getting there" for BR? :). It is a bit cringe and also open for wilful misinterpretation eg "we've got you...r money".

Was hoping that i would grow to like it but still think it a very poor decision.
Look ok ish when ex works but when most buses in a town are runnng around in a faded and dirty version of that livery it is going to look so depressing.
I am just hoping that they try and keep them as clean as they can or we get another rebrand or rethink at some point.
Appreciate others may like it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder i suppose.

If the coloured lines on the front were also horizontal along the top deck I think that would be an improvement.

Even just having some kind of thin stripe in a contrasting colour somehwere would add something. The big logo placement looks dreadful, and will partly be covered up by the side adverts on some of the buses I've seen.

Have any new buses been delivered in the new livery yet? Recent Photos on Flickr of ADL E400ev delivered are all in the outgoing livery.

As I have mentioned previously it has long been a Stagecoach idea that liveries should show the dirt easily as a way to encourage depots to keep their buses clean.

It also seems that compared to 30 or 40 years ago buses receive a much glossier paint finish which in theory is easier to keep clean provided washing takes place with any sort of regularity. IME it is much less common these days to see buses with any sort of accumulation of road dirt.

Ah, so that's where you put the key in to wind them up!

That beachball looks like it's about to fall off the bus

It does make you wonder who signed off repainting a bus with only 1 or 2 years life left with Stagecoach, there must have been better candidates

It doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?

Especially when you consider how many buses are still in Beachball!

From what I can tell it was repainted because it had to be, to be used again.

18376 like many others had been planned for disposal, in typical group fashion they were defaced with spray painted markings over the logos, to deter resale/further service in Stagecoach livery. But with Torquay needing extra buses until their Electric's arrive later in the year, a few Tridents were drafted in, in various states of condition.

Personally I feel its quirks like this which keep this hobby interesting!

I'm sure there's been at least one example of a North East bus being painted into local, but never even seeing service due to almost immediately being withdrawn
