Does anyone know what is happening with Elland? It's gone really quiet, rather worryingly so.
Last I heard was the development of the business case was as far as matters had progressed.
Amazing! Will this be the least usable/used Station opening of recent times?Network Rail have been contracted to build the new station in Soham - expected opening 2022: https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/ne...muy15OEUF_P5wH51j2ddJCjxUkrYp0_GzNGQf9gL0G6RI
I caught a news report today saying that funding has been confirmed for the new White Rose station. No mention of timescale however.
There are a number of proposed railway stations and lines that currently have planned dates for opening in the future. These are listed below and are subject to change depending on delays caused by funding challenges, technical issues or construction delays. There are some projects that are of interest to many and these are covered below the following timeline.
HORDEN. How are Storey Construction getting on? Are the platforms & pedestrian access to them up? Late summer they had only laid out the car park. Is Spring 2020 opening on target?
Also should be named "Horden for Peterlee". The latter having a much bigger population & adjoining.
This is a good site to keep up to date

The station is Portway Park and Ride and yes, opening is delayed a bit. This website shows Portway Parkway opening in 2020, yet other sources tell me it has been put back to 2021. Has anyone any updated information concerning the proposed opening date for this station?
Yes the new station is 1/3rd mile NW of the old one. Access from South East View via Third St?Is it not the case than when the new station opens, it will be as Horden Peterlee? The last date I heard was sometime in March 2020.
Also, can I ask if the site of the new station is well over half a mile away from the original station site of the now-closed Horden station?
I agree, but the money is for Leeds City Council to spend (not WYITA) as it's money originally allocated for the aborted Trolleybus scheme. Quite why Leeds feels the need to prop up the unsustainable (and poor quality) WRC when the City centre itself is one of the country's biggest retail destinations is another thing altogether. They should spend the money elsewhere, it's 20 years too late and I'd have to question it's need.

That's one of many issues with the proposed station though. It's named for the White Rose Centre but won't actually be that close or convenient for it.It’s not at the White Rose Centre. The station is further north. The area has quite a bit of employment
My understanding is that the station will be part funded by developer contributions of Millshaw Park.
They have really missed an opportunity to create a busway linking the new station and White Rose.
Scotrail were tweeting yesterday about Robroyston Station

Appears to still be opening in December 2019 so that's positive news.
I've updated the first post of this thread.
You need to amend the first post on the thread to reflect:-
Robroyston now opened (15 December 2019)
Warrington West now opened (15 December 2019)
Worcestershire Parkway opening has been put back to "early 2020"

Has there been any more information about the new Barrhead South station on the Neilston line?
The last I heard it was due to open next year, 2021.
I'm guessing 'Barrhead South' is the working name for the proposed station - would Auchenback or Lyon Cross be more likely to be chosen, given there's already a Barrhead station that is centrally located?
The potential station has occasionally been referred to as Auchenback in the past but it seems now that Barrhead South is the preferred name. This makes sense from a strategic point of view as the purpose of the station is to help unlock the “Barrhead South” development area - broadly the land between Springfield Road and the railway line.
Given the associations that the name Auchenback generates are not entirely positive I think it’s unlikely that there would be a desire to see the station (and by extension the development area) using that name.
There’s a possibility that an entirely new name develops for both the station and the development area. I’d suspect such a name would be more likely focussed on the links to the country park which is due to get significant new facilities under the 6th East Renfrewshire City Deal project. My guess would be something like “Balgray” might be a possible option.
I don't think any of the housing developers, residents or the council want to refer to the area as Auchenback because of its poor reputation. It would devalue the area. One major developer next to the new station is calling their area Duncarnock (after the nearby fort I believe). I think Barrhead South is the best name as the station is at the centre of the Barrhead South Masterplan with every new house apparently within 15mins walk of the new station.Yeah that would make sense. The location would allow better access to the park from the Glasgow suburbs too, and of course is the name of the adjecent reservoir. However, the reasons for not using Auchenback, if correct, are pretty poor. That's the name of nearby neighbourhood in Barrhead. I'd rather the reasoning was the distance so that it wasn't wrongly giving the idea it was slap bang in the middle. Not using the name because Auchenback has a poor reputation is a terrible way of going about things. It's like when people wanted to rename Easterhouse in Glasgow.
