I do wish you luck. The business case may not be the best going, but I do think it be a completely reasonable project with a relatively low cost providing quite significant benefits for the village. Just make sure you also push for viable commuting options to Dumfries - not much point in the station if it can't attract people to travel to Dumfries (in addition to getting you to Glasgow and Edinburgh).

Surely Lockerbie to Kirknewton is much longer?

I am, of course, just being pedantic and wish you luck with getting the station reopened!

Apologies that this is extremely late but I am very happy to announce that the re-opening of Thornhill Station has been approved onto the STAG II process, which is one step closer to the official re-opening.

Thornhill Station Action Group are delighted to announce that Thornhill Station has been voted onto the next stage by SWestrans Board.

We look forward to working with SWestrans and the consultants they appoint, through the STAG II process (Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance).

THANK YOU for your continued support over the past months.

There are rumours that we could be looking at a new station in 2020, but I am unsure of their source and am dubious regarding their honesty.

Can anyone enlighten me and the rest of the village regarding whether this is true or not and can anyone inform me of the next steps that much be taken to make progress with the proposal?
