Night Riviera cabin query

Hi folks

Hoping one of the experts on here can help with a query around the sleeper. Got a booking for night of 26/10/2022, Paddington to Penzance. Ended up booking online as card wouldn't go through with the call centre. Requested connecting cabins, but have coach D and E (1 adult and 2 kids, 13 and 10). Currently playing ping pong between the sleeper team and specialist bookings as to being able to change the cabins. Would prefer not to rock up to Paddington on the night and say here is our booking, please move us accordingly (have heard that the GWR onboard team are great and would assume a Cornish team on the way down!).
Can sleeper reservations be changed at stations (such as Doncaster), or does it have to be through the GWR centre?

Doncaster certainly have the equipment to book sleepers, not sure if they'll be able to change a reservation for you though , all depends what kind of ticket you have.

I would strongly recommend contacting GWR directly about this.

I hope my experience will help reduce your worries,

I travelled on the night riviera a few weeks ago in the opposite direction to London, peak time for leisure travellers. The staff are super friendly and I'm sure they would be able to re-arange cabins if you ask nicely. When I went there was still a few empty cabins to which the host gave me a complimentary upgrade from a seat to a berth so the odds of it being fully booked would likely be slim. Staff are always on hand but I would reccomend getting there before official boarding time as that was when I was able to speak to the manager about an upgrade. They were still organising room allocations about an hour prior to departure however this may be different at London Paddington compared to Penzance where I travelled from.

If you can get it sorted beforehand that would probs be better to reduce any risk

Agreed. You could reach out on twitter but alternatively you can ring them on 0345 7000 125 0700-2200 Monday to -Friday and0800-1900 weekends.
