ScotRail have cancelled the evening services between Dumfries and Carlisle today citing "industrial action at another operator". No replacement bus operation has been advertised, can anyone confirm if any road transport is being provided to customers with pre-booked tickets?
RMT strike action taking place today won't involve any ScotRail staff & our services will be running as planned. A small number of services between Glasgow & Carlisle will be impacted though, due to train dispatch being carried out by other train operators at Carlisle station.

Two evening services have been amended to terminate short at Dumfries:
1913 Glasgow Central to Carlisle
2213 Glasgow Central to Carlisle

Four evening services are also cancelled throughout:
1903 Dumfries to Carlisle
1921 Carlisle to Dumfries
2111 Carlisle to Dumfries
2310 Carlisle to Dumfries

So for example if a customer had a ticket for the 1913 for Glasgow to Annan there would be no service and no replacement transport, due to strike action at another operator at a different station they weren't even going through? Carlisle station being locked up after 1800 today is as may be, but my question would be why does that prevent ScotRail from running to Gretna Green or providing a replacement bus service between there and Carlisle? Shunting at Gretna Jn may not be possible but there's no evidence of engineering works closing the line, so the train could simply go empty to Carlisle and back?

Have you contacted Scotrail what to do about your own pre-booked tickets?
