As from period 1501(?) virgin are using delay repay instead of void days, what happens to season tickets that started during the `old` system?
void days for part of the year?

I'd rather have RTVs as I don't pay for my season tickets, whereas I get to keep any RTVs

Virgin's passenger charter says they started using delay repay from April 2013. So this seems an odd announcement.

Isn't there normally a transition period for annual seasons already bought though, there should therefore be no need to re-invent the wheel, a fair number of TOCs have already changed so there must be a suitable procedure in place.

But they are lesser TOCs than the great Virmin West Coast!

As stated Virgin started Delay Repay in April 2013. Little fanfare and they didn't appear to tell anyone else in the industry such as those of us who might be selling season tickets on their routes! A couple of months in I saw a leaflet at a VT station, and queried ATOC. From that point on the period figures went to the format you can see here http://www.atoc.org/about-atoc/commercial-activities/fares-retail-support/passengers-charter/ in the 14xx periods. Which is namely that those prior to April 2013 would be on the old void days and discount system and those after on delay repay. This continued to this year when any annual tickets bought prior to April 2013 would have expired and everything became delay repay. So there was that 1 year period of transition.

I'm surprised that FGW are still operating under the old regime to be honest, given they've been giving a 5% Punctuality discount on Thames Valley (ex-Thames Trains) and High Speed for months.
