Apologies if this has already been mentioned. I have book called rail guide 2016 and has a list of all TOCs in the country with each unit no. for each unit number, carriage no. depot and livery etc. It says 158 784, 787, 790, 791, 792, 793, 794, 795, 797 and 797 are now based at Newton Heath Manchester with the rest still based at Neville Hill Leeds. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not? Thanks in advance.

ABRail. which many people on the Forum rely on, shows NH rather than NL. Can't understand this as Northern 158s see very little of Newton Heath.

All I could think of is that they are there to run the Manchester-Leeds that run out of Newton Heath.

Where they, or are they still, the units on loan to ScotRail?

Hope that helps.

Unless it changed when Arriva surfaced, the 158s were based at Neville Hill but stabled at Newton Heath for the morning Yorkshire services from Manchester.
